East Valley Young Marine of the Month
November - 2006
Lcpl. Selena Andrade
Why did you join the Young Marines? I joined the Young Marines because of discipline. I needed to be here for the way I treated my mother I would talk back to her, but now that I joined I respect her.
When did you join? In February 2005 , I was 9.
What do you like best about the Young Marines? The best things about the Young Marines is Community Service, Parades and Encampments!
What are some of your best memories? Final Recruit Training day and all of the Parades! Also, when I led a little group of Young Marines to show them how to do facing movements. I also went to Temecula and we did PT, hiking and swimming. It was awesome! The most difficult thing in Temecula was when we had a Drill Off and I had to concentrate , so I wouldn't mess up. I didn't know what would happen next and then I got 3rd place!
What are your other hobbies? At school I play Kick Ball, Jump Rope and Run.
What is your favorite food? Chinese food, yummm, and MRE's.
What are your favorite movies? White Chicks, it was soooo funny and Chicken Little
What advice would you give to new recruits? Just because you are a recruit doesn't mean to give up, just to follow it to see what happens in the future.
