I Am
By Pvt.Steven Jimenez
Bloomington, CA

I am a patriot as true as can be.
I wonder if I will have freedom.
I hear the screams of soldiers in war. I see dead people.
I want my share of independence.
I am a patriot as true as can be.
I pretend I am not a slave but I am.
I feel like I'm nothing but I'm not.
I touch two pistols to kill.
when I don't want to kill.
I worry for my loved ones
      if they'll survive.
I cry when I see the death
       of my loved ones.
I am a patriot,
       a person who wants freedom.
I understand I must fight in the war.
I say we will win if it takes forever.
I dream of freedom.
I try to fight for what I want.
I hope we will win.
I am a patriot.

Upcoming NCO's and SNCO's
By SSgt Jonathan Gibson

To the youth.
You are the future of this Young Marine Unit!
You guys run the show, that's why it's called the Young Marines. Guys and girls get motivated to take the position...step up to the plate! SSgt. Gibson and GySgt. Garcia can not run the Unit by themselves...they need you!
Instead of picking up that X-box or PS2, break out the Guide Book and learn some new knowledge!
Being an NCO, you have to take some self-determination and step up. If you cant pass your Corporal test, study to get better. After you take it once, you'll know what is on the test, so you should not fail again!
If you are not in top psysical shape, do your pull-ups, sit-ups, and three mile runs everyday to get there!
