The Young Marine Program is for boys and girls ages 8 through graduation of High School.  However, above the age of 16 many discover it to be a bit more challenging to be taking orders from a Young Marine who is younger but has earned their rank. (Those Young Marines who are between the ages of 16-18 have traditionally been with the program for 5-6 years.)
